What this actually does
Compares the words, not the pixels. A change of font or a shifted margin that leaves the text identical will read as “no change”. Where a line was edited rather than replaced, the changed words inside it are marked, so a single altered figure reads as one figure and not as a whole paragraph rewritten. Long documents are aligned in full — there is no cut-off.
